For those boat owners who have smaller sized boats, that�s not an option because they want to bring their boat home with them. Your next consideration should be of the quality of the boat storage.

You are going to need a location that can provide many things. Your boat should be out of the water, if possible, to keep it at least somewhat clean during storage. You should make sure that there are no damages to the roof of the building that it is stored at, especially when it is important to keep the boat indoors and out of the elements. You will also want to provide a good level of security for your boat. Your boat storage should be able to keep those that don�t belong near your boat away from it, which should help keep problems like theft and vandalism to a minimum.

For many people, cost is also an important factor in boat storage.

You will need to consider what it will cost you to store your boat in these various environments and locations. If the price is too high at a marina or dry dock, you can often find affordable storage that may not be specific to a boat, such as a storage facility, that will accept your boat in it. By going to a storage facility it will often lower your costs. Comparing your options is important when considering where to store your boat.

You will need to take the necessary time it takes to carefully consider your boat storage needs and what type of facility will meet those needs. With so many locations and options out there to think about, take a few minutes to compare them so you are able to find the best choices for you, your boat, and your budget.

Caribbean or Bahamas - where to keep a yacht?

This is a somewhat general question but where would be a good place to moor a yacht - the Bahamas or in the Caribbean? When I say good, I mean a combination of relatively cheap-to-fly- to, close to an airport, relatively cheap and safe to moor a sailing yacht that is also a good cruising destination.

Sailing/cruising To Achieve One's Goals.

After reading Liz Clark's sailing blog, my husband and I started talking about what was so refreshing about it (besides the good grammar and pics!). Well, the thing that jumped out was the fact that this cruiser wasn't identifying herself as a cruiser but instead as a surfer-girl. Her outlook on life, her goals, where she's going and what she's doing doesn't simply focus on "cruising" for the sake of cruising. We realized that we were craving another viewpoint like this. We absolutely love to hear about people who are achieving another life goal where sailing/cruising happens to be a conduit to the achievement. What do you all think?

Sailing Crew for Florida , Bahamas & Caribbean Cruising

Looking for 2/3 sailing crew for cruise. This is not a delivery trip so will be stopping at lots of places of interest ,islands etc. Require easygoing, young or young-at-heart crew. Yacht is fitted for extended voyaging/Bluewater cruising with all safety devices.
