Custom Boat Covers

By Elizabeth Morgan

Owning a boat and then spending lazy hors sailing down the sea near sun-kissed beaches is a luxury, which many dream to afford. And if you are the lucky owner of one such boat, fitted with all accessories, and designed to sail you away from the daily cares, do remember to give a thought to its well- keep and maintenance.

Boats, like all organisms living or non- living are subject to the vagaries of nature. Time will take its toll and your much prized possession can lose both its shine and value.

One of the most important aspects of keeping your boat spic and span, shining and new is to give attention to boat covers. They play a pivotal role in keeping dust, snow, rain or mildew at bay. All these are sources of corrosion and can affect the boat adversely. While many boat covers are available in the market, the best option is the custom fit boat cover. Rated high on the scale of customer satisfaction, they are designed for specific boat styles.

So, before venturing out for shopping for your custom fit cover, keep a few things in mind. First of all, you need to get exact and accurate measurements of your boat using a non- stretching tape. Look around you and do a survey of the fabrics most popular for boat covers. This will give you an idea of what to choose from. The popular range of options includes 50/50 polyester marine fabric or any soft fabric such as 100% waver polyester along a non-waver polyester back.

Choosing the right fabric for your customized boat cover is very essential because only a fabric with the required amount of strength and flexibility will be able to keep away the UV impacts, mildew and the prevent the process of rusting, which would set in the boat sooner or later because of its constant contact with water.

Hints About jet fishing boat

Repairing a inflatable boat yourself is a difficult and often costly task. It is a complex procedure and the glue, solvents, fabrics and tools required are not easy to get and are usually expensive. However, most dealers stock these items and will sell you them, some will even offer directions and advice. Be warned though that "self repairs" may end in a visit to the dealer anyways, so a dealer evaluation before you try is always the best idea to determine the difficulty of the repair.

Hurricane DEAN - warning for the Caribbean

Fri, 17 Aug 2007 15:36:18 +0200
Hurricane Dean - a warning has been issued for the Caribbean and in particular to St Lucia and Martinique. Dean had been looking a little more ragged on satellite this morning due to some dry air intrusion, and a bit of westerly shear. However recent visible and enhanced IR satellite loops indicate Hurricane Dean's structure has improved, and may be starting the forecasted steady strengthening. In fact, the 5:00 a.m. advisory reported a minimum central pressure of 976 mb or 28.82 inches. This intermediate advisory reports a central pressure of 970 mb or 28.64 inches. This is considered a rapid drop in pressure (defined as a drop of 2.0 mb per hour). Max winds are still at 100 mph, and will take probably a couple of advisories to respond to any pressure drop. Dean is forecast to become a major hurricane in 36 hours, and is forecast between 72 and 96 hours to become a CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE with winds near 145 mph.

More Info On aluminum jet boats

Inflatable boats will have a logo, decal or other branding on them most of the time. If not, they should all have an I.D. plate or patch identifying the boat brand, model, serial number, length, width, weight, capacities, manufacturer contact info and more. This plate is often located on the transom (back) of the boat. Contact the manufacturer using a Supplier's Index to attain information you may be looking for or may require in the future.

Remember, these are maximum recommendations for fair weather operation. The number of people who can be carried safely depends on the type of pleasure craft, distribution of occupants, equipment carried and weather and water conditions. Operators must know and respect the limitations of their boat.

Panama Canal Transit - Current Cost Details for sailing yachts.

Fri, 14 Sep 2007 11:58:44 +0200
Firstly, I use an agent for a sailing yacht where a lot of cruisers do everything themselves and thus save quite a considerable amount of money. The reason for using an agent is time - we are undertaking a delivery and the quicker we can get through the canal the better. I used Stanley Scott and he is kept updated as to the date and time of our arrival in Colon.
